i’m a self-taught photographer from amsterdam, the netherlands, now based in hong kong. i work exclusively with film; i love its tones, texture and timelessness as well as the challenges and imperfections it presents. my photography is inspired by classic cinema, vintage magazines, record sleeves, historic cities, and the intimacy of personal memories — all connected by a deep sense of nostalgia.
i find beauty in overlooked details and enjoy romanticising the everyday with a focus on colour and light. i hope my photos encourage people to see the world through a softer, more sentimental lens. explore my portfolio here.
in 2021, gup new recognised me as one of the 100 best emerging dutch photographers. i’m gearing up for my first exhibition in september 2025 in amsterdam.
beyond the camera, i write, edit copy, and translate. i co-wrote and edited berlage di nusantara, (berlage’s journey to the indies // berlages indische reis), a trilingual book and artistic project (english, dutch, bahasa indonesia) that reinterprets famous dutch architect hendrik petrus berlage’s 1923 travel diary. through a fresh and critical lens, it explores the dutch-indonesian colonial past and its present-day impact.
